Ghoul's Night Out, October 28, 2007

The ghosts and goblins of the Haunted Mansion de Plunkett (7008 Kodiak Court, Manassas) awaited their dinner guests on this ghoulish night. The dinner party enjoyed such fare as jellied vampire tongue, dead slab of roadkilled (were)wolf, goblin's privates, diced spook guts with spider goo, mashed scarecrow with creamed ghost braines, marinated monster eyeballs, and goulish cosmic delight.
Guests wore costumes that includes several pirates, a nun, a nurse, Minne Mouse, Little Red Riding Hood (who brought along the Big Bad Wolf), and Carmen Miranda. Guessing what to choose for the unappetizers, the mean course, and the just desserts was the most fun....and funny to see what each diner actually received.

Partea Doll Beach Bash at Bethany Beach, September 21-28, 2007

What a great time....the house was beautiful with ocean views from the master bedroom and from the screened in porch off the great room. The weather couldn't have been better with only a brief thunderstorm on Saturday. There were three outlet malls and we covered all of them. Our favorite eating hole was the Cottage Cafe...loved those fried oysters.

We're ready to go again next year!

Once again the yearly pool party was held at Pat Bemis' but this year's theme involved the letter "P". That means the food and fun began with the letter "P". We'll had potato salad, pasta salad, pea salad, punch, pie, etc. All the games (Professions, Pinko, and Pit) began with the little "P" too.

Wednesday, 11:30 am, April 25,2007 - Red Hat Day at Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles

Dressed in our best Red Hat finery, nine Red Hat friends had lunch at Westfields Marriott to celebrate the 9th Anniversary of the founding of the Red Hat Society. (In Fullerton where Hatquarters is based, hundreds of Hatters observed our special occasion at the flagship store as well as at the Spring Tea Garden where Sue Ellen Cooper and friends went out for their first tea.) We all enjoyed the buffet, particularly the desserts and played a game that included questions about the Red Hat Society. Kathy Baldwin, the winner, received a vitorian bear that was ready for a ride in the old Model T.

Saturday, 5:30pm, March 31, 2007 - Texas Hold 'Em Poker Party

Texas Hold'em at Holly's was sooooooo much fun. Twelve ParTEA Dolls "competed" to learn and win the most chips! The dealer said he had played Texas Hold'em lots and had never laughed so much! We had snacks, ordered pizzas, a little wine and lots of fun. The 3 tops winners from each table had a play-off, with Judy Bettis the grand winner, Lisa Plunkett coming in second, and new Doll Mindi Obi third. We have already decided this is a MUST do again. The last 4 cleaning up got into a Left, Right, Center game, or two, maybe 3, and continued laughing and we'll be scheduling an event for that too (possibly July). It's been a fun week, and the Queen is Happy!

Eight Dolls met at the Westfields for a fabulous champagne brunch and what a feast we had. The choices were numerous and included omelettes made to order, belgian waffles with yummy toppings, ham, roast beef, shrimp galore, sirloin in wine sauce, chicken, all kinds of salads including a delicious hawaiian chicken salad, Westfields version of eggs benedict, blueberry muffins and scones to die for, smoke salmon, bagels, croissants, all kinds of fruit, and more..... The list of desserts included several cakes, cookies, mousse, and biteables such as canolis, macaroons, and chocolate covered strawberries.

Before stuffing ourselves we enjoyed a game or two that were too racy to mention here.

Leaving the brunch, we spotted an Indian wedding expo that had some fabulous jewelry as well as Indian wedding attire.

What a blast!!!  Elvis showed up to sing 3 songs, sign autographs, share his birthday cake and take pictures. He promised to return next year too.
